Cliffside, North Carolina, is mourning a resident, Seth Cole, who passed away untimely on February 9, 2026, at the age of 30.
Seth Cole is survived by his parents, Christie Davis Cole & Barry Cole, his brother, his aunt Phyllis Cole, and extended family.
Tragically, he took his last breath just 13 days after celebrating his 30th birthday on January 25, 2026.
His father, Barry Cole, expressed his deep grief on a Facebook post. He poured his heart out while sitting outside his son’s house.
Barry revealed that one minute, he is bowling his eyes out, while the other, he gets super angry with the guilt that he failed as a father.
I know Gods will is not always the same as ours but I’m a selfish daddy that I prayed so many times to heal Seth but my prayer was for it to be here on earth not to take him from us but it wasn’t meant to be but I know he is in heaven above with all his family that went before with no more addiction that brought him so much grief here on earth.
“I praise God for that but it doesn’t make it easier for ones left here with overwhelming grief so people that are out here destroying familys with these drugs straight out of hell please, please quit selling drugs and ripping families apart. Seth Cole I love and Miss you so so much and the only comfort I have is knowing I’ll see you again!” he wrote.
Likewise, several others came forward online to share their words of condolences.
His aunt, Phyllis Cole, wrote:
You will forever be missed here on earth but I know your dancing in the Sky with Kevin Bridget mama daddy Ronnie pawpawJimmy and all the other love one that has gone to the other side .

Brettriona Liggins, one of his friends, shared how he helped her during her lowest time, writing:
Seth Cole was a friend, he gave me encouragement when I was at my lowest. Saw pain when I tried to hide it and would always make me smile through it. Thank you Seth for being a number I could call, a voice when I couldn’t find mine.
