Multiple people were found dead Tuesday after a shooting at a home in the gated Amberlea neighborhood, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies responded to 4822 Fallcrest Circle around 12:29 p.m. and discovered multiple victims; sheriff’s officials later said there were no survivors.
Authorities recovered a weapon inside the home and described the event as an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public.
The sheriff’s office said “all persons are accounted for,” and investigators were not looking for additional suspects at the scene.
Deputies set up a media staging area at Bee Ridge Presbyterian Church and maintained a heavy law-enforcement presence in the area while officers processed the scene.

Proctor Road was closed near McIntosh, causing traffic delays, and nearby schools were briefly placed on secure perimeter status before being cleared.
Investigators said there were two prior calls to the residence, but those earlier responses did not raise “red flags.” Crime-scene, forensics, victim-advocate, and criminal-investigations teams were working the case.
The officials also said they had not completed identifications or next-of-kin notifications as the investigation continued.
Neighbors described shock and disbelief in the usually quiet neighborhood. “I heard five distinct sounds that I knew were gunshots,” longtime resident David Hannon said.
“It’s happening right here in my neighborhood… Amberlea is a safe neighborhood; it’s gated, and just people dying, it’s horrible.”
The sheriff’s office urged the public to avoid the area while detectives continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
More information will be released as officials confirm identities and next steps in the investigation.
