A murder investigation is underway in Northampton after a man was fatally stabbed at a skate park on Wednesday afternoon, February 18, leaving a teenage boy in a critical condition in hospital.
Emergency services were called to the skate park on Ringway in the Briar Hill area following reports that two people had been stabbed during an altercation.
Despite the efforts of members of the public and paramedics, a man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene.
A teenage boy was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains in a critical condition.
Northamptonshire Police have arrested four people in connection with the incident. Two teenage boys, a man, and a woman, all from Northampton, are currently in police custody.
Sadly, and despite the best efforts of members of the public and the emergency services, a man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene and a teenage boy was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. He remains in a critical condition.

Detective Chief Inspector Torie Harrison of the East Midlands Special Operations Unit described the incident as a “tragedy” and assured the community that a team of dedicated officers is working to establish exactly what happened.

Police have increased patrols in the Briar Hill area to offer reassurance.
A cordon remains in place at the skate park as forensic inquiries continue, and residents are being asked to avoid the area where possible.
Officers are urging any witnesses or anyone with mobile phone or CCTV footage to come forward and speak to the police.
