Michael Bayne, 32, has been missing since Monday morning. He was captured on a Ring camera leaving his north Tempe apartment at 9:40 a.m. on Feb. 16, 2026, and has not been seen since.
Bayne is 6 feet 4 inches tall and about 185 pounds. He has short brown hair and brown eyes.
When last seen, he wore jeans, a gray and white jacket, and a blue ball cap.
His vehicle is a white Volkswagen Jetta, and it remains unlocated at the time of reporting.
Family and friends say Bayne attended kickball on Sunday, Feb. 15, then spent time that afternoon and evening at Royale and Bunk House Bar with friends.
He last spoke with contacts on Feb. 15 and did not show up for work the next day, prompting his family to report him missing to police.
Family members and friends say he didn’t show up to work, and he needs medication as he is diabetic.
Investigators say Bayne’s cell phone showed a ping in Mesa near McKellips Rd & Country Club Dr at about 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 16.
Police have confirmed a missing persons report is on file, and the case is under active investigation, after one of the friends headed to the department to file a FIR.
The Tempe Police Department is handling the case and asks anyone with information to call their tip line at 602-262-6151.
Family contact is Brittany Bayne, who is coordinating with investigators and friends as they search for leads.
If you have video, dashcam, doorbell footage, or saw a white Volkswagen Jetta in north Tempe or near Mesa after 9:40 a.m. on Feb. 16, call now.
Friends and family have voiced concern that the disappearance could be linked to a possible bias incident targeting Jewish and/or LGBTQ communities.
That concern comes from people close to Bayne and has not been confirmed by investigators.
What matters now are concrete details. A short clip, a license plate, a vehicle sighting, or a remembered direction of travel could narrow the search.
Check phone recordings, car cameras, business surveillance, and neighborhood doorbell footage from the morning of Feb. 16 and the evening of Feb. 15.
Anyone with information should contact the Tempe Police Department tip line at 602-262-6151.
Report tips promptly; even small details can be the lead investigators need to find Michael Bayne and reunite him with his family.
