Jarrod Wronski, the longtime public address announcer for the Hershey Bears, has officially stepped down from his role following an incident that occurred after the February 7 game at the Giant Center.
In a detailed public statement shared on social media, Wronski accepted full responsibility for his behavior, describing the confrontation with security personnel as unprofessional and acknowledging that his actions led directly to the end of his tenure with the organization.
According to Wronski, the incident involved him, his family, and arena security on the concourse following the game.
He admitted that he failed to control his behavior and voice professionally, emphasizing that accountability for the situation rests entirely with him.
As a result, he is no longer serving as the PA announcer for the Bears, a role he held with pride and deep personal connection.
Wronski’s statement went beyond a simple apology, offering a heartfelt reflection on his years in Hershey and the emotional bond he formed with the community.
He spoke about how much the town, the team, and the fans meant to him and his family, especially during difficult periods in his personal life, including his divorce.
He described moments of support from fans throughout the arena, on the concourse, and even in the parking areas, noting that simple gestures such as greetings, smiles, and encouragement helped him through some of his hardest days.
He also reflected on the significance of his introduction to the organization, recalling the welcome he received when he first took over the PA role and how honored he felt to represent such a historic hockey community.
In his message to “Bear Nation,” Wronski expressed regret for disappointing fans and acknowledged the unique atmosphere that Hershey fans create every game night.
He highlighted iconic moments such as the teddy bear toss events and the intensity of fan support, even during limited attendance periods, calling the Hershey crowd truly one of a kind.
Wronski extended apologies to players, coaches, front office staff, production teams, and fellow announcers, stating that he failed to represent the organization positively.
He also addressed Giant Center security directly, acknowledging that the staff members involved were simply doing their jobs and did not deserve the way the situation was handled. He admitted that he escalated a situation that did not need to be escalated and expressed regret for causing a public scene.
In a deeply personal section of his statement, Wronski addressed his family, saying that as a son, father, and husband, he is responsible for leading by example.
He acknowledged that his actions fell short of that responsibility and committed to reflecting, learning, and rebuilding himself both personally and professionally.
Closing his message, Wronski referenced the famous quote by Gordie Howe about Hershey’s importance in the hockey world, expressing shame that he failed to live up to the values associated with the town and the team.
He stated that he is stepping back to focus on his family, mental health, and personal growth, accepting the consequences of his actions while seeking a path forward.
The situation marks the end of an era for the Hershey Bears’ game-night experience, but Wronski’s public accountability and remorse have drawn widespread attention.
His statement reflects not only the seriousness of the incident but also the depth of his connection to the Hershey community and the personal cost of his actions.
