North Charleston, SC, mourns ex-Voorhees University and R.B. Stall High School baseball player Bryce Jordan Reed, who passed away untimely on February 9, 2026, at the age of 25.
Bryce Jordan Reed is survived by his partner, NiAh Nelson, and their kids, son Kyro and daughter Jenae.
Born on March 20, 2000, Bryce and his partner NiAh Nelson stepped into parenthood for the very first time with the arrival of their firstborn son, Kyro, in October 2021.
Apart from his partner and kids, he also leaves behind his parents, Lealather Mayers III and Karen Oliver Reed; his brother, Bryson Joel Miller; his mother-in-law, Rae Williams; and extended family members.
His father, Lealather Mayers III, expressed his grief over losing his son, writing:
My heart is shattered. Yesterday I lost my son, Bryce. You will always be my joy, and my greatest blessing. I miss you more than words could ever say, and I will carry your love with me for the rest of my life. Rest in peace, my son. 🕊️💙
Rae Williams, his mother-in-law, also wrote a brief word of condolence, which reads:
Yesterday, we were shattered with the news of Bryce Jordan Reed passing. We don’t understand ANY of this but we trust God.
Please keep my daughter NiAh Nelson and her & Bryce’s babies, Kyro and Jenae in your prayers 🙏🏽
Sadly, he took his last breath a month and 10 days before celebrating his 26th birthday on March 20, 2026.
Born in North Charleston, Bryce attended R.B. Stall High School, where he was a dedicated student-athlete and a leader on the baseball field.
After graduating from high school, Reed continued his baseball career at Voorhees University. From there, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Crisis/Emergency/Disaster Management in May 2024.
He was a family guy who loved his kids and spent time with them as much as possible. Although his time on earth was short, Bryce lived to his fullest every day.
The details surrounding Bryce’s funeral and memorial service will be published soon. Meanwhile, during this difficult time, we pray for the strength of Bryce’s partner, kids, parents, extended family, and friends.
Rest In Heavenly Peace, Bryson Jordan Reed!
