She passed away after a difficult season of hospital stays and medical care, surrounded by the love of her family.

Amanda was deeply loved by her family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her strength, kindness, and love left a lasting impact on so many lives. She’ll be remembered for her resilience in the face of adversity and the warmth she extended to everyone she met.

Their time was far too short, but it was filled with deep devotion and joy.

Let me take a moment and give my wife, my pic, my person a shout out. A part of my 2025 reflection of this year’s success is the behind-the-scenes work that no one knows about.

Amanda leaves behind an unimaginable loss for her wife, Sam, as well as her extended family and countless friends who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

Amanda was my person. Everyone who knew me, hung out with me, came over to my mom & dad’s house, knew who Amanda was. She was a light; she wanted to know you, see you, and support you. Even if she had just met you. She was the one I called when something good or bad happened. Especially if something funny happened, she thought my storytelling was stand-up comedy. She was the one I called who would laugh with me.

As the family grieves this tragic loss, they are also facing significant expenses related to her extensive care.

Ashby Eggers has organized a GoFundMe campaign to help cover hospital expenses and other costs associated with Amanda’s medical care to support Sam during this impossible time.

Every donation will go directly toward easing this burden and allowing Sam the space to mourn, begin healing, and focus on what matters most.

Additionally, a food train has been established with a goal to provide freezer meals, restaurant gift cards, and grocery gift cards to the family.

Not the news I was expecting to see this morning when getting on Facebook. I had to go look because I couldn’t believe what I was reading. I am so sorry to hear about your passing, friend. You never knew a stranger, and I have never experienced anyone so full of life other than you. My heart hurts for your wife and family. I know we have more pics from the many years, but just a few I found that I am to look back on. RIP my sweet friend Amanda Murro Shea!!!!
