Dr. Aysha Raza, NHS advocate and trailblazing Cabinet Member, left the world, leaving everyone devastated.
Raza was first elected in 2014 and served the Central Greenford ward for more than a decade.
She also served as a cabinet member for tackling crime and inequality between 2021 and 2023, becoming Ealing Council’s first-ever Muslim woman cabinet member.
Aysha was involved in community organization in Greenford and across the borough, including The Young Ealing Foundation, The Ealing Wildlife Group, The Holy Cross Players, and The Royal British Legion.
She also served as a governor at both Stanhope Primary School and William Perkins High School.

The sources confirmed that neuroscientist and politician Dr. Aysha Raza died on Sunday, February 15, 2026. The cause of death has not been revealed yet.
Peter Mason, leader of Ealing Council, poured the heartfelt condolences.
“The news of Councillor Aysha Raza’s passing last night is incredibly saddening and our hearts go out to her family who are grieving her loss.” “Aysha was a diligent and steadfast campaigner who worked tirelessly for her community in Greenford. She will be remembered for the energy and enthusiasm she brought to campaigns not only our borough but beyond. She will be deeply missed by her Labour Group colleagues and across Ealing.”

He took to his official Twitter handle and said that a book of condolence has been opened at Ealing Council’s headquarters for those wishing to offer their respects following the tragic passing of Dr. Aysha Raza.
Sadiq Khan, the mayor of London since 2016, also took to his official Facebook handle and wrote,
There are no words to fully express my shock and deep sadness at the sudden passing of Dr Aysha Raza – respected neuroscientist and passionate defender of the NHS, a tireless campaigner for equality – and Ealing Council’s first ever Muslim woman Cabinet Member. My heartfelt condolences go out to her mum, family, friends and to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire us all.
