Bailey Cruse, a 16-year-old junior varsity cheerleader at South Paulding High School, tragically passed away following an accident that has left her family, friends, and community devastated.

Born in 2010 to Erin and Brad Cruse, Bailey was known for her bright spirit, infectious energy, and love for life.

In the immediate aftermath of the accident, family and friends held onto hope, sharing messages across social media asking for prayers and support.

One post from Heather Nicole Cruse captured the community’s sentiment, stating,

“This doesn’t feel real. Bailey remains unresponsive, and we are asking for a miracle.

Please continue to keep Bailey in your prayers, along with Brad and Erin, asking that they be given strength during this time.”

As Bailey’s condition failed to improve, the reality of her passing began to sink in.

Friends, classmates, and community members came together to honor her memory, offering support to her grieving family. Crystal Steagall, reflecting on the outpouring of love, wrote,

“Walking through this door without our sweet Bailey felt impossible. But seeing everyone gathered in her room, celebrating her with so much love, filled my heart in the best way. This is so Bailey. This is how we’ll always remember her — big, bright, and surrounded by love.”

To help the Cruse family manage the day-to-day demands while grieving, a Meal Train was organized by community members.

The initiative aimed to provide meals and support for the family, ensuring they could focus on one another during this heartbreaking time.

The campaign quickly exceeded expectations, raising $9,480 from 111 contributors, far surpassing the original $1,000 goal.

Organizers emphasized that while donations and meals were deeply appreciated, the greatest support came in the form of prayers and emotional solidarity for Erin, Brad, and the rest of Bailey’s loved ones.

As the community processes this loss, many have expressed the difficulty of comprehending the “why” behind such a young life being cut short.

Donna L. Chapman, among those sharing her grief online, wrote,

“Bailey is now an Angel in Heaven. She was taken way too soon… only 16 years old. It is really hard to comprehend the ‘why?’ This is a huge shock for all. God had other plans for this precious girl, but so painful for her family and friends left behind. Thank you for your prayers. Please shift your prayers for Bailey’s Mom, Dad, and the rest of her family and friends during this devastating time.”

Rest in Peace, Bailey Cruse.
