United States Attorney General Pamela Jo Bondi, simply known as Pam Bondi, does not have biological children but is a stepmother to several children from her partner’s previous relationship.
Pam Bondi has been married twice. She first married Garret Barnes in 1990 when she was 24 years old, but the marriage lasted only about 22 months before they divorced in 1992.
Later, in 1996, she married Scott Fitzgerald. That second marriage lasted nearly six years, ending in divorce in 2002. Neither of these marriages resulted in any children.
In 2012, Bondi became engaged to ophthalmologist Dr. Greg Henderson, who was a widower and had four children from his previous marriage.
The couple attracted media attention, and there were rumors about a wedding at a Caribbean resort, but they never married, and the engagement ended by around 2015.
Bondi later clarified that the planned wedding had been postponed and that she wanted a traditional ceremony, but it ultimately did not happen.
Since about 2017, Bondi has been in a long‑term relationship with John Wakefield, a private equity executive and co‑founder of Varner Wakefield Equity Partners.
The two have appeared together publicly many times, including on social media and at major events.
In February 2025, during Bondi’s Senate confirmation as U.S. Attorney General, President Donald Trump referred to Wakefield as her “very handsome husband,” even though neither Bondi nor Wakefield has publicly confirmed that they are married.
Wakefield has three children from a previous relationship, and while Bondi does not have biological children of her own, she is part of a blended family through this partnership.
