Keaton Wagler has been named to the Wooden Award Late Midseason Top 20 Watch List for his outstanding performance this season with the Illinois Fighting Illini.
He’s one of only a few Big Ten players on the list, reflecting his breakout freshman year, averaging around 17.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game.

Keaton Wagler was born on February 3, 2007, in Shawnee, Kansas, to loving parents Logan and Jennifer Wagler, who helped shape his path from a basketball-loving child into one of college basketball’s most exciting young stars.
From the very beginning, basketball was part of the Wagler family’s story. Both of Keaton’s parents played the sport during their college years at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas in the 1990s.
While neither pursued basketball professionally, they passed down their passion for the game and an appreciation for teamwork and hard work to their children.
Logan Wagler, Keaton’s father, stayed close to the sport after college and has been involved in coaching at the high school level.
