Kevin Partington, a Sarnia high school teacher who was facing multiple sexual offence charges, has been fired by his school board.
In a statement, the board’s director of education, Carolyn Bastien, said Partington’s employment was terminated. He was a teacher at the French-language school Saint Francois Xavier.
The school board stated that he was immediately placed on administrative leave when it first learned of the allegations on February 11, and an internal investigation was launched.
Bastien thanked a staff member who took “immediate action” after hearing about an incident involving the teacher. She acknowledged how difficult the situation has been for the school community.

Sarnia Teacher Kevin Partington Jailed on Sexual Offence Charges
A 33-year-old Sarnia teacher has been arrested and remanded into custody following multiple charges related to sexual offences involving students.
Kevin Partington faces four counts of sexual assault, four counts of sexual exploitation, one count of making child pornography, and one count of break and enter with intent.
According to a news release from the Sarnia Police Service, investigators from the Major Case Action Team (MCAT) obtained evidence that Partington engaged in criminal conduct involving multiple students during 2023 and 2024.
The allegations include incidents of sexual abuse involving students at the school. He was a teacher at Ecole Secondaire Catholique St. Francois Xavier in Sarnia.
